Jose Luis Morales, a star player for Levante, has been signed by Villarreal.
The Yellow Submarine’s summer transfer window has started, and it starts with another smart deal between two teams from different parts of Valencia. This is something the club has done a lot in recent years.
The latest news is about Levante. Villarreal has signed Morales, a winger who has been with the team for a long time and has long been thought to be headed for bigger and better things.
Up until now, the veteran, who will soon turn 34, has stuck with Levante through thick and thin, but he has decided not to follow Las Granotas down to Segunda for a second time.
Instead, he joined the Yellows to see how well he could do at the top of La Liga and in the Europa Conference League in Europe.
He joins Villarreal a year before the end of his contract with Levante. The deal was cheap for Villarreal.
El Comandante, as he is lovingly called, has signed a two-year contract and has already passed his medical.
Morales is getting older, but he still played in 35 of Levante’s 38 La Liga games last season. He stayed healthy for almost the whole season and never missed more than two games in a row.
He scored 13 goals last season and will now work for Unai Emery this season.
