Serbia’s Dusan Vlahovic brought Juventus back to the Serie A winning track with a thrilling 3-2 win over Empoli on Saturday in the 27th stage.
It was Bianconeri’s first league win after two consecutive draws against Atalanta and Torino, lifting their tally to 50 points, four points behind third-placed Napoli, who will take the lead if they beat Lazio on Sunday. They are also six points clear of fifth-placed Atalanta, who host Sampdoria on Monday having a game postponed.
The visitors advanced through Moise Kean (32) before Zurkowski equalized for the hosts (39), but Vlahovic continued to shine and scored twice (45+2 and 66) before Andrea La Mantia reduced the gap (76).
Vlahovic is the top scorer in” Serie A ” after raising his tally to 20 goals this season (with Fiorentina and Juventus) against Ciro Immobile (19).
“A player alone cannot make a difference without a team behind him, if we stay one hand, we can achieve great results,” the Serbian scorer said after the match.
Sassuolo beat Fiorentina 2-1 and Salernitana and Bologna equalised 1-1.
