Newcastle out of the relegation zone
Newcastle continued their awakening and were temporarily out from the relegation zone when they upset their guest Everton with their new coach Frank Lampard in a 3-1 win .
Everton opened the scoring thanks to friendly fire as defender Jamal Lascelles accidentally scored against his side (36), but the hosts responded one minute later in the same way as defender Mason Holgate accidentally equalized.
Scottish midfielder Ryan Fraser gave Newcastle the lead early in the second half (56), and newly arrived defender Kieran Trippier raised the score with the third goal (80).
It was Newcastle’s second consecutive win and third this season, lifting their tally to 18 points and rising from the nineteenth to seventeenth place by one point above Norwich City, who host Crystal Palace on Wednesday.
